Writing is a calling few people who get this summons can avoid. You end up writing for yourself or for others. Some make a living at it, and some don’t. Some are picked up by a publishing house, large or small. Others aren’t that lucky.
That is how independent writers come about. We know there have been independent writers since forever. However, not until recently, during the past two decades in fact, have independent writers found their work can be compensated enormously.
Here are some Indie Writers for you to look through if that is what you’re searching for:
- Heart Bones, by Colleen Hoover
- Lethal Defense (The Nate Shepherd Legal Thriller Series Book 1) by Michael Stagg
- Blue Midnight by Tess Thompson
- The Dinner Guests – by Kiersten Modglin
- The Last Line: A Short Story (Tracy Crosswhite), by Robert Dugoni
- Imposter Alert! By Uduak Akpabio Umoren
I have found many writers who begin independently find publishers eventually. Does that dig them out of the category of being an Indie Writer? I’m not sure. Perhaps someone will send me a line and educate me on that. Maybe some of the writers you find in this category are now published by big shot company, I know of a few. So forgive me if that is something you consider detrimental to Indie Writers, and help me out with a few names or titles. I want to promote Indie Writers in any way I can. Send me a line here.
