Thrill & Chill

When you’re reaching out for the title of a thriller, do you like traditional authors, or are you more into the new or indie authors? I find I keep going back to the traditional thriller authors such as John Grisham, Robert Ludlum and Robert K.Tanenbaum.  They did create their own franchise, so to speak, of genre fiction thrillers.

For me, I think it’s more nostalgia than anything. I remember in my teen years watching both my parents sitting across from each other after a long days work, reading their favorite thriller. Dad was a Ludlum fan and my mother loved the Tanenbaum and Grisham novels. Maybe that’s why I picked the most recent one I read, “The Judge’s List.” I won’t go into that title here, I’ll leave that for an upcoming book brief, which I’ll publish in a few days.

What will thrillers be about these days? Long gone are the  hop all around the world spy novels of yesteryear. The espionage these days doesn’t seem so slick and enticing anymore. Of course, there’s more to thrill than spies and undercover agents working for high-power governments or industries. I will have to clear my calendar to see what’s out there and maybe I’ll find other authors to call favorites in this category.

Here are the covers of the novels I’ve listed above. If you have any favorite thrillers you’d like to suggest, please drop me a line in my contact page.

On this page I have a few suggestions which I will try to follow myself. Take a look at them and come back soon, because I will refresh the list on and off. I should say I was intrigued by “The Judge’s List,” and since I live in Florida I can say I enjoyed traveling up and down the state pursuing the culprit in this work.
